About us
You need a trustworthy partner for your design and build project – we’re that partner.
After a successful career with a national building contractor working on some seriously big buildings, TDO’s Ben had to decide whether to stay in management or have a more direct hands-on approach with projects. He decided to do the latter and so The Drawing Office started life in the summer of 2007.
Our first project was a small rear single storey extension in Exeter and since then we have worked on hundreds of projects – from loft conversions, new build houses and listed buildings to commercial and industrial buildings. Typically, our projects range from £25K to £250K.
Our ethos is to make the whole process as enjoyable as possible. We love our clients to get involved in the design process – it is after all your project, so it must work for you.
We listen to what you want and apply our skill and knowledge to make sure we meet your requirements and expectations but at the same time we look for alternatives to enhance the design so we can be sure we have looked at design options if the budget allows.
We also appreciate that you have been thinking about things for a while, reading magazines, watching TV shows, or visiting friends who have had work done. You will have a vision and it’s our job to help you realise that vision with flair and imagination.
You will meet Ben during the initial site visit. He is responsible for all design work within the business and, with 16 years’ experience to call upon, he will usually have an architectural solution for most situations. Ben has a passion for architecture and building design and a keen eye for detail. All this ensures that your project will be delivered with skill and enthusiasm.
Heloise will probably be the first person you talk to. She looks after all the administration, manages the applications when they have been submitted and makes sure things get done on time. Heloise is incredibly knowledgeable about the planning system and, as a former solicitor, enjoys a good planning challenge.
